Isolated rain, thundershower today

The westerly winds would reach upper parts of the country on Monday and are likely to cause isolated rain with thunderstorm at various parts during the next 24 hours.

Talking to APP, an official of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said isolated rain with thunderstorm was expected on Monday evening in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi and different areas of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

“The intensity of the rain would be light to moderate and would extend to other parts of the country on Tuesday,” the official said.

According to the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave is expected to affect upper parts of the country on Monday and would persist till Tuesday.

Mainly dry weather would prevail at different parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

The maximum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Islamabad 28C, Lahore 32C, Karachi 32C, Peshawar 31C, Quetta 22C, Skardu 22C, Murree 17C, Muzaffarabad 28C, Gilgit 28C, Faisalabad 31C, Multan 31C and Hyderabad 37C.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Shaheed Benazirabad, Chhor and Hyderabad 37C and Turbat 36C. The pollen count recorded in Islamabad was 4,247 per cubic meter.
