Will end load shedding in five years, says Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday gave a five-year deadline to eliminate load shedding from the country, if voted into power. He added his deadline is based on sound judgement, unlike the one given by former premier and minister for water and power Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of PTI’s ‘Tabdeeli Razakar Program’, Khan said corruption was a major reason behind persistent load shedding across the country. He said PTI vows to maintain power supply to domestic as well as commercial users, adding that the issue will be completely redressed in five years.
Khan reiterated his resolve for recovering looted wealth belonging to the country. He said his first priority was recovery of plundered national wealth and holding corrupt personnel accountable.
Young volunteers, said Khan, would be the foot-soldiers of his party’s election campaign.
All forces of status quo, Khan added, are joining hands overtly and covertly to once again plunder national wealth but their designs would be thwarted by the PTI, he said.
“All status-quo parties tried their best to attract youngsters by making different offers to them, but they should now admit the fact that money has no match for passion,” said the PTI chief.
Khan said the youth has committed to bring about a change in the country through the platform of PTI, adding that status quo parties have turned politics into family businesses and are not concerned with the country’s progress.
“I want to see youth in power because they want to serve the country. Real competition will take place during these elections between forces of corruption and the PTI and I know how to come out a winner,” said the PTI chief.
Khan said people in streets were confronted with hardships due to apathy of these so-called political leaders who remained in power for years but took no remedial measure for the masses.
“The tsunami is very much here and it will reach Mingora on Sunday. A historic gathering is going to be held in Swat,” he said, adding that all issues of the country could be resolved by bringing reforms in the system and by wiping out corruption from government departments.
Khan said 0.2 million members had registered under the ‘Tabdeeli Razakar Program’ and the PTI will soon meet its target of enrolling one million volunteers.
Conveying his message to PTI volunteers, Khan said, “You will have to conduct door-to-door visits to inform the public about our manifesto. We will implement our manifesto in its true letter and spirit. We will overcome the issue of load shedding after coming into power”.
“We will appoint 10 youths at a single booth so the possibility of rigging polls could be checked during elections,” Khan said.
“I want to form a new Pakistan where my sons can live alongside me, happy and safe,” he said.
