The owner and principal of a private school was killed while six other people including children were injured in a hand grenade attack on a school situated in Ittehad Town of Baldia Town area of Karachi, officials said on Saturday.
Police said Rasheed, a local ANP leader, owned the school and was the target of the attack.
Most of the injured were students of the school, located in the Ittehad Town of the area.
Three of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
According to local police, unknown miscreants threw hand grenade in a private school where result of students was being announced.
Rescue and police teams arrived soon after the blast.
Three students of the school were also injured in the blast and were shifted to nearby hospitals, where there condition reported in critical.
Tension prevailed in the area after the blast.
Taliban militants have been attacking schools in lawless tribal region and terrorism-hit province of KP but Saturday attack occurred in the largest city and financial capital of the country which raises grave concerns.
