School principal killed, 6 hurt in Karachi school blast

The owner and principal of a private school was killed while six other people including children were injured in a hand grenade attack on a school situated in Ittehad Town of Baldia Town area of Karachi, officials said on Saturday.

Police said Rasheed, a local ANP leader, owned the school and was the target of the attack.

Most of the injured were students of the school, located in the Ittehad Town of the area.

Three of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

According to local police, unknown miscreants threw hand grenade in a private school where result of students was being announced.

Rescue and police teams arrived soon after the blast.

Three students of the school were also injured in the blast and were shifted to nearby hospitals, where there condition reported in critical.

Tension prevailed in the area after the blast.

Taliban militants have been attacking schools in lawless tribal region and terrorism-hit province of KP but Saturday attack occurred in the largest city and financial capital of the country which raises grave concerns.

    • are your supporter or member of MQM = Mutahida Qatil Moment whom are biggest terrorist party in Sindhi especially in Karachi these terrorists are killing citizens everyday and everyone knows whose is altaf don.Only solution is to handover Sindh to army especially Karachi and do cleanup operations and clean all terrorists including MQM terrorists as well.

      • Yes we should obey yours orders but problem is we had already seen worst after effects of army operation in Bengal , karachi and now our wazirastan.Can we restore peace after such lengthy army operations.Our nuclear power army either lost or triggered local militarism via its operation.So only fools like you can think of such stupidity as part of your militarized training but SORRY my evaluation is quite opposite to it

  5. Karachi needs to hire and consult with Israeli counter-terrorism experts on how to root out and obliterate the constant terrorism overtaking the city. No one knows how to do it better then them. Terrorism is terrorism, whether it be tied to political parties, taliban, or bandits. Killing your children, your Doctors, your Professors…everyday it's another shocking incident. Pretty soon you will have nothing left.
