President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the setting up of appellate tribunals for the upcoming general elections to dispose of appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers.
President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said the caretaker prime minister had sent the advice regarding Appellate Tribunals to the president which he approved.
Three appellate tribunals of the Peshawar High Court, 10 of the Lahore High Court, six of the Sindh High Court and three of the Balochistan High Court will hear the appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers.
The appeals will be filed by April 9 and will be disposed of by the tribunals by April 16.
