The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has finally broken its silence on the return of former president Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, Ahsan Iqbal said the former president had committed a crime by overthrowing an elected government. He urged the courts to initiate legal proceedings against Musharraf.
Iqbal said the list of Musharraf’s crimes was a long one. “He has left no stone unturned in destroying the peace and integrity of Pakistan,” he alleged.
The PML-N leader added that the former president had put the country’s autonomy and sovereignty at stake, adding that he was responsible for the problems the country was facing today.
Iqbal expressed hope that the former dictator “would be taken to task for his sins”.
