Musharraf’s name placed on ECL

Former president Pervez Musharraf’s name has been put in the exit-control list (ECL) for his involvement in several cases.

The Interior Ministry has sent a notification to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration in this regard.

On Friday, the Sindh High Court had ordered Musharraf to not leave the country without seeking prior permission of the courts concerned.

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah had also granted a 21-day extension to Musharraf in the Benazir Bhutto assassination and Akbar Bugti case to appear and surrender before the trial courts.

Musharraf arrived in Karachi on March 24 after four years in self-exile to contest the upcoming general elections under the banner of his party, the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).

He has filed his nomination papers for the National Assembly from three constituencies – NA-250 (Karachi), NA-32 (Chitral) and NA-48 (Islamabad).

  2. That's the best news people of Pakistan have heard after a long time. I commend the judges who took this bold step. He must be tried for the crimes he committed. Some one told me that after Zia, the second position comes to this guy who has the most distorted mentality.

    Was He responsable or the Chain Of Command??
    Please Remember you have a sitting President ( Zardari ) who in a British Court was declared Mentally Disturbed whilst contesting his Surrey Mansion Case.
    Was Bugti a Nationalist or a Terrorist? Was he not being funded by both Isreal and India???
    Did not the Lal Mosque Leader not call for the death of Pakistani Army and Police??

  4. Agree with you ramzan, it’s a disgrace that such crooks in the country have hot away with taking the country to the depths of corruption and destruction! And they taunt this guy! Pathetic! This type of democracy is same as giving AIDS to your friend!
