Imran Khan duped me: Sardar Assef

Former foreign minister Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali, who announced to part ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after being denied a ticket for the National Assembly, has accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of lying to him on five different occasions about giving him the ticket, a private TV channel reported on Friday.

“Imran Khan promised me on five different occasions that I would be given a ticket for the National Assembly but he has now given the ticket to Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, who has been a close ally of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf. Imran made a promise before the people on March 23 that he would never lie to them…he did not keep a promise made to me, I wonder how he will be able to tell the truth to the nation,” the disgruntled politician said. He added that it would have been better if Imran had made his intentions clear from the beginning.
