PPP candidate from NA-148, Ali Musa Gilani has said articles 62 and 63 of the constitution do not apply to him.
Talking to reporters after submitting his nomination papers on Saturday, Musa explained that articles 62 and 63 dealt with honesty and truthfulness of a candidate and he had never told a lie.
To a query, he said the case against him had not been decided yet and articles 62 and 63 would not be applied to him before the punishment.
Talking about the services rendered by the last PPP govt, Musa said the PPP had pledged the masses that it would restore the constitution of Bhutto, asking “did it not do that”?
He said the PPP was demanding votes in reward of the sacrifices rendered by Yousaf Raza Gilani.
Musa said some candidates of the PML-N ran away after taking part in the federal government.
To another query, he clarified that he would not like to gain support or votes by criticising any opponent.
