The executive committee of Lahore City Cricket Association has been deprived of watching the matches of ongoing of Faysal Bank T20 Super eight as the Pakistan Cricket Board did not extend the courtesy to issue them honorary passes.
It is the first time that PCB did not consider issuing passes to the executive committee of the LCCA comprising 20-member and instead issued accreditation cards to top four officials of body including ,its President Khawaja Nadim Ahmad, Secretary Mian Javed Ali, Senior Vice President Imran Bucha and Treasurer Sarfraz Ahmad.
The executive committee members belonging to all the three affiliated zones here on Friday experienced their disappointment on the indifferent attitude of the PCB and said it was shocking that they were not issued passes or cards for watching the tournament.
“It is unfortunate that we cannot watch the matches of our own team which is taking part in the event in our own home town,” they said.
“The matches are being played in front of an empty stadium and no consideration was given to the executive committee of the LCCA which includes the zonal presidents secretaries who are the main force to revive cricket at grass root level,” they added.
LCCA though wrote to PCB in this regard but could not get a favourable reply, they said. “PCB in reply to LCCA query informed them that they can not accommodate the executive committee members and that is why they were not issued cards,” they pointed out.
