The Pakistan Cricket Board has advised the national team’s head coach, Dav Whatmore, to first return to the country and file his tour report on South Africa before going on a short vacation.

“The board told Whatmore and fielding coach Julian Fountain to first return with the team and file their tour reports which need to be discussed by the national selectors with the PCB,” reports said.

He said Whatmore was not happy with the situation but the board felt he should also return to watch the national Super Eights T20 championship underway in Lahore.

“The national selectors have also assembled in Lahore and the chairman of the board, Zaka Ashraf, is also back from South Africa. The idea is to have a round table meeting to do a post mortem on the SA tour,” the source added.

He said the board wanted Whatmore and other team officials to be involved in the meeting so that the selectors can take reports into consideration before finalising the 30 probables for the Champions Trophy in England.

The source said Whatmore had been told he could go on the short vacation to visit his family after the meeting was held and everything discussed in detail.

The former Australian Test player was present at the Gaddafi Stadium today to watch the Super Eight T20 matches.
