Pakistan’s tennis icon Aisam Qureshi pairing together with Rojer Jean Julien of Holland stormed into the Final of ATP Masters Tennis Championship in Miami, USA.
Showing tremendous form, they annihilated an all Spanish World No. 2 team of Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2 in just under an hour.
Aisam and Rojer were extremely aggressive in their attack and executed their strategy very carefully of not allowing their opponents to engage them in long rallies. They were quick, they were fast and they were attacking on the net continuously.
While Spaniards were able to break Rojer’s first serve and took 2-0 lead Aisam and Rojer quickly bounced back and leveled the score to 2-2 by breaking Lopez’s serve in the fourth game.
Again they played excellent winners against Lopez’s serve in the eighth game and broke him to take a 5-3 lead.
Granollers and Lopez came out with excellent strokes in the ninth game and set up a break back point at 40-40 but thanks to a great serve by Aisam they were able to secure the set 6-3.
In the second set Aisam and Rojer were in complete control of proceedings. They served well, they returned well and they hit several volley winners. They were able to break both Granollers as well as Lopez and put pressure on their own serves. They took home second set 6-2 and the match.
In the Final, they will face the winner of Polish power Matkowski & Fyrstenberg and Nielsen & Dimitrov.
