The smuggled vehicles’ amnesty scheme notified by the Federal Government, for legitimizing smuggled vehicles upon payment of duty and taxes, has fetched Rs. 3 billion approximately to date, through legitimizing around 10,000 (ten thousand) vehicles across the country. According to a statement of the FBR issued here on Thursday it reiterated again that the last date to avail this facility of the amnesty scheme will not be extended beyond March 31, 2013. The FBR further clarified that all Customs’ field formations will remain open on Saturday the Sunday the March 31,March 31 2013 as a special arrangement to facilitate persons availing this amnesty scheme. Moreover, designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan will also remain open on aforementioned days.
