Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi has asked the Punjab Civil Secretariat Section Services One to provide him the a list officers of Grade 18-22 who were related to any politician or were affiliated with some political party in any way.
Sethi also sought lists of all officials who were political appointees and had been appointed a contractual basis and those whose tenures had been extended illegally.
Sources said it was likely that all senior officials, who were illegally appointed, would be dismissed or sent to their respective departments per law, adding that the Punjab government would seek the Election Commission of Pakistan’s permission in this regard, wherever required.
The sources said Sethi also asked authorities concerned to give him lists of officers who had been serving on the same posts for a long period of time.
They said the Pakistan People’s Party leadership had demanded the Punjab caretaker chief minister dismiss the chief secretary and the Punjab IGP along with all DPOs and DCO of 36 districts appointed on orders of former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif to minimise the chances of poll rigging.
The sources said the PPP was of the view that the ban imposed by the ECP on appointments and transfers by Sethi was “pre-poll rigging” and Sethi should ask for powers to appoint and transfer, otherwise he would be nothing more than a dummy chief minister.
The source said a new IGP for Punjab was likely to be appointed within the next 24 hours.
Top of the list is Chief Executive of the province – Najam Sethi.
Sethi sab now is the time to act i think majority is politically appointed you have to remove every one be a man you talk very high on tv lets see you have guts to deliver & can arrange free & fair ground for elections .

During the last five years bureaucracy, at federal as well as provincial level, has been completely politicised. Therefore, Mr Sethi should not waste his time on this futile exercise. Free and Fair elections can not be held in Pakistan in the existing socio- politico-administrative scenario.
