Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain telephoned prominent journalist and political analyst Najam Sethi and congratulated him on becoming the caretaker chief minister of Punjab.
Talking to Najam, he said that it was the need of the hour to hold impartial and transparent elections in the country, and most importantly in the Punjab province, said a statement issued here on Wednesday.
Najam thanked Altaf and said it would be his foremost priority to hold impartial elections in the province.
He said that he would use all his abilities to ensure that free and fair elections were held across the Punjab province.
