IHC annuls Rs 5b worth of projects Raja approved for hometown

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday declared null and void the contracts worth Rs 5 billion for development schemes in former prime minister’s Raja Pervez Ashraf’s constituency.

According to sources, the court scrapped the deal for it was found not only shoddy but also against the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority’s rules and regulations.

Directing the National Logistic Cell (NLC) to immediately return the amount, the IHC ordered the authorities concerned to invite bids and re-award the contract within 30 days strictly in accordance with the PPRA rules.
