The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday took notice of Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi’s statement regarding transfers and appointments, saying the interim CM had no right to transfer and appoint any officer.

The commission clarified that only the ECP had the right to do so.

The commission has lifted ban on new appointments in the country, however, the ban on transfer of development funds will remain in place.

Earlier, talking to reporters, Sethi had said he would change the whole bureaucracy in the province and would also appoint new inspectors general of police.

  1. Only in Pakistan such people of ill repute can become ministers, chief ministers and prime ministers or presidents

    • This is the way it has been for years, its the real Pakistani way,you qualify for Presidency or Premiership if you are a thief, corrupt, dishonest, lies and above all, could careless about the people who elect them, the rest of the ministers, chief ministers and the MNA gang all follow the leader.I hope you are not surprised by the outcome, the next election will have the same outcome in the end,IF they can go the whole 5 years.

      • Sethi is right becoz former rulers of Federal govt and Punjab had posted people of their choice to manipulate election results.

  2. Najam sethi is american payroll CM free and fair election in his caretaker setup is joke may Allah safe Pakistan from another Zardari.

  3. Sethi should order Shoaib Suddle to investigate how somebody who pays very nominal tax, has no known or declared means of foreign earning could buy expensive real estate in Manhattan worth billions. This NGO mafia has done more harm to Pakistan than even RAW.
