300 Adyala Jail prisoners suffering from Jaundice

Around three hundred prisoners in Adyala Jail are suffering from Jaundice, while steps are being taken for treating them on priority basis. The disease has spread due to contaminated water. The services of specialist doctors have also been sought for treating the patients. Sources informed that when Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary visited Central Adyala Jail, he had directed the jail administration to conduct tests of the prisoners to detect Jaundice. Sources furthered said that the government of Punjab had also been informed about the number of prisoners suffering from Jaundice.
