PML-Q finalises list of candidates for upcoming polls

The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leadership has almost fianlised the list of party candidates for the upcoming general elections, but is reluctant to share it with the media, fearing it might trigger more defections within its ranks and file.
When contacted, PML-Q Secretary Information Kamil Ali Agha confirmed that the party tickets had been finalised and the list would be shared with media on Thursday (today).
A top party leader has said that the list of party’s ticket holders include heavy weights from across the country who have potential to win polls.
As per the information, Sardar Talib Hassan Nakai, Asif Nakai and Sardar Tufail have been awarded PML-Q tickets from Kasur, Malik Nauman Langrial from Sahiwal, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin and Chaudhry Ali Akhtar from Faisalabad, Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareshak from Rajanpur, Mian Munir, Habibullah Bhatti, Fayyaz Bhatti and Yousuf Ahad Malik from Lahore.
“Raza Hayat Heraj and Ahmed Yar Heraj are to be issued tickets from Khanewal, Ashiq Gopang from Muzaffargarh while Chaudhry Pervez Elahi would contest from Gujrat and Chakwal,” the source added.
He also said Chaudhry Shafaat Hussain, Imran Masood and Rehman Nasir have been fianlised for party tickets from Gujrat while Azeem Noori Ghumman and Ansar Baryar have been short-listed from Sialkot.
“Ch Tariq Bashir Cheema has been awarded party ticket for two National Assembly seats and one Punjab Assembly seat in Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar, while Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema has been given ticket from Sargodha,” the PML-Q leader added.
