Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday stressed on the need for the continuation of the democratic process to ensure sovereignty of the nation.
Addressing the parliamentary board of PML-N, Nawaz said that democracy was like a plant that bore fruits of social welfare and economic prosperity.
Moreover, he said that any hurdle created to block the continuation of the democratic process was a serious crime. He said Pakistan had learnt its lesson and had allowed an elected government to complete its constitutional tenure.
The PML-N president said the people of Pakistan would now be have another opportunity to elect their representatives for five years in a free atmosphere.
He said the PML-N’s main priority would be the continuation of democracy and economic revival of the country so that it could become one of the top ten economically sound countries. He pledged to invest in education, energy and infrastructure if elected to power.
