Crackdown on illegal petrol, diesel agencies soon

A decision was taken on Wednesday to launch an operation against over 350 petrol and diesel agencies operating illegally in Rawalpindi.

A source said that these agencies are doing business by selling diesel and petrol without obtaining any license from the district management or from the concerned authorities.

“They are considered a serious security threat to the citizens as they were functioning in the populated areas of the city,” the source added.

“They do not having any fire extinguishing arrangement in place. Therefore, a decision has been taken to initiate a crackdown on them,” a source said.

DCO Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar directed the Civil Defence Department and City Police Officer Rawalpindi to conduct an operation and seal all such agencies operating without licenses.

The agencies are seen mushrooming in the areas of Eid Gah Road, Kashmiri Bazaar, Asghar Mall Road, Kurri Road, Sadiqabad, Raja Bazaar, Kartar Pura, Pir Wadhai, Fouji Colony, Dhok Hussoo, Ratta Amral, Ganj Mandi Road Misrial Road, Chakri Road, Tahli Mohri, Bakkar Mandi Road, Ghousia Chowk, Tahli Mohri, Dhok Sayyedan, Lall Kurti, Sadar, Ahata Mitho Khan and Adiala Road.
