Islamabad East Sessions Judge on Tuesday indicted Abrar Ahmad and his girlfriend Zehra Mehak for the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Bara Kahu and of a NUML student.
The hearing of the case was held in the court of Islamabad East Sessions Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi where both the accused were present.
The court had decided to hear the case on daily basis and gave a verdict within 30 days. The judge directed the Investigation Officer and other police officials to ensure presence of both the witnesses.
According to the prosecution, Abrar Ahmad raped 11-year-old Shahzadi Bibi who had gone to Zehra Mehak’s home for tuition on February 13. The girl’s body was later burnt and thrown into a manhole.
The two were also accused of raping and killing a university student, Sawera, who is the daughter of a police officer Hakim Khan.
Robbers arrested: Islamabad Police have arrested 10 outlaws including three notorious dacoits from various areas of the city and recovered weapons and wine from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
According to details, Golra Police Station Station House Officer Inspector Abid Akram, along with a police team, including Sub-Inspector Muhammad Tehseen and others nabbed three robbers identified as Essa Khan, Siddique and Barkat from sector G-13 and recovered 3 pistols from their possession.
ASI Fiaz Ahmad from Golra police station nabbed Ali Raza during patrolling and recovered one wine bottle from him. ASI Shakeel Ahmad from Aabpara police station arrested Sim Sinain for possessing three wine bottles and 10 cans of beer.
Sub-Inspector Shafqat Ullah from Anti Car Lifting Cell police arrested Saleem Nazir Masih and recovered 10 cans of beer from him. ASI Imran Haider from Margallah police station arrested Sameer Ghori and recovered one bottle wine and two cans of beer from him. ASI Muhammad Akram from CIA police arrested Imran for possessing a 30 bore pistol.
Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Hanif and Mansha Hussain from Shahzad Town
Police Station arrested Waseem Khan and Waseem Kiyani for possessing a 9MM pistol and a wine bottle. Cases had been registered against all those who were arrested and further investigation are underway.
