We are bringing in good men: Elahi

 

Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader Ch Parvez Elahi has said that the party is bringing candidates with great record of services to the people.

He said the real contest will be between those who made Punjab prosperous and others who rendered it destitute. During the five years of Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) prices shot up whereas in PML-Q’s tenure the price hike was controlled through good governance.

He said this while talking to the party candidates coming from different districts of the province, in the Muslim League House here.

Muhammad Basharat Raja, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan, Moonis Elahi, Rasikh Elahi, Ch Anwar Bhinder, Mian Muhammad Munir, Akram Masih Gill and Nasir Mahmud Gill were also present on the occasion.

Ch Parvez Elahi emphasized that his party focused on citizens’ welfare, and that the poor had benefited the most from projects like Rescue 1122, free education till secondary level and provision of free books in government schools. Furthermore, tax exemption for owners of twelve and half acres of land and five marla houses, provision of houses for government servants on retirement and plots in the Journalists Colonies were all non-discriminatory welfare initiatives by PML-Q.

The former chief minister added that Punjab was quite prosperous during PML-Q’s tenure. 20 kilo atta bag which was then available for Rs 285 is now being sold at more than Rs 900. He questioned how Rs. 27 billion allocated for controlling the atta prices had been utilized He added that PML-Q’s welfare plans like providing milk to school children had been scrapped by the PML-N government.
