Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned hearing until March 27 of the petition filed by Hafiz Saeed seeking elimination of VIP culture from the country.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan took up the case for hearing on Monday and sought more arguments on the maintainability of the writ.

Counsel for Hafiz Saeed argued that VIP culture in the country ran contrary to the Islamic teachings and the constitution. VIP culture was giving rise to a sense of deprivation among the citizens and was an encroachment upon the fundamental rights, he contended. He said exploitation and coercion could not be uprooted unless VIP culture was eliminated. He prayed the court to order for elimination of VIP culture from the country.
