Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said he would never take oath from President Asif Ali Zardari if his party won the next general election.

Talking to reporters with Nawab of Bahawalpur Salauddin Abbasi, Khan said: “I will never take oath from Asif Ali Zardari.”

Khan also announced that the PTI and Bahawalpur National Awami Party had reached an understanding over electoral alliance.

He said his party now had only those workers who were committed to the PTI’s ideology, thanking PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif for taking within his party’s fold all opportunists.

“The party has become more dangerous for opponents. Other parties will not be able to confront the PTI in elections,” he said.

Criticising the previous government, Khan said the rulers had destroyed the country’s system, adding that the PTI had carefully drafted its manifesto to build a new Pakistan.

He said the PTI would not only resolve the issue of load shedding in the next five years, but would also reduce electricity charges.

Khan added that after his successful show of strength in Lahore over the weekend, his party would now hold a similar rally in Mingora soon.

Khan said Nawab Salahuddin was against the status quo, while Nawab expressed support for Imran, saying their ideologies were similar.

Nawab Salahuddin said all institutions of the state had been destroyed and political leaders were working to get headlines in newspapers.

He said Bahawalpur was the first province in 1947 which allied with Pakistan and opened its treasury for Mohammad Ali Jinnah to meet the country’s needs.

“Imran Khan and I have identical views and there was no reason why we should not have joined hands,” Nawab said, slamming those who wanted to run the country turn by turn.

    • Why do you say so. Or do you think only crooks like Zardari and his circus clowns like Rehman Malick can come to power..

      • Iqbal says HA HA HA. He must be a supporter of Zardari. Because that is the total amount of childish lahguage that Zardari and his uneducated follwers can muster up

  4. While the captain of cricket team IK was not famous for his democratic style or popularity among the players. He has been a lifelong leader of his own party. The real leaders emerge at a younger age and do not bloom after retirement age. The raw talent and character is built early in life as the Op Ed suggests. The great leaders do not continue to make wrong decisions in their own lives till late. All the leaders of Pakistan and India who have won the independence were known for a successful career in law and not banking on other people’s money all their lives. From Mr. Jinnah to ZAB they had the answer to the question what have you done for making a living? They were a political legend even in their 30′s and 40′s. Their source of power was the poor masses of the country not well to do living outside the country.
