Bomb hoax at LDA spreads terror

The Bomb Disposal Squad sealed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s building while the police cordoned off the area after the news of possible presence of a bomb in the building spread on Monday.

According to details, a woman called LDA officials in the morning, telling about the presence of a bomb planted in LDA’s building. LDA’s building, which is generally occupied by a number of people, was evacuated after the news. The LDA officials called the police and informed about the bomb threat. The police reached LDA’s building and cordoned off the area while the bomb disposal squad initiated a search operation. The squad, after a two-hour operation, declared the building to be safe.

The bomb disposal squad mentioned in its report that the building was safe, declaring the news to be false. Although, the squad had given its clearance, the LDA officials remained petrified from entering their office and headed back home instead of continuing with their work.

A similar call was received on Monday morning alerting the customers at the Ambassador Hotel for a possible presence of poison in the hotel’s food. The rescue teams reached the venue after hearing the news and upon probing into the matter came to know that the news was false.
