Unannounced load shedding in Rawalpindi city and its cantonments has increased to more than 10 hours a day, making the lives of residents miserable.
Expressing their concerns, residents of Misrial, Chungi No 22, Mareer, Sadr, Dhok Choudrian and other areas said that they had to face multiple difficulties due to power outages.
They said that there was a schedule of load shedding and the electricity supply company was not following the schedule it had announced.
Residents said that the electricity outages also interrupted the water supply to the localities due to which they had to fetch water from far off areas. Moreover, traffic signals in most of the busy chowks of the city remained turned off due to the load shedding, creating problems for the traffic police.
The residents demanded the concerned authorities to end the prolonged and unannounced load shedding in the city and cantonments areas.
