The Capital Development Authority on Friday continued its operation against building violations being carried out by the owners of agricultural farms in Islamabad. Earlier, CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz constituted a special team for the purpose under Planning and Design Member Syed Mustafain Kazmi. The team consisted of officers of building control section, enforcement and estate management directorates and a senior magistrate.
On Friday, the team demolished additional covered area beyond the permissible limits of a farmhouse located in Sihana Agro Scheme. Heavy machinery was used to carry out the operation.
CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz said that the authority had already issued notices to all the owners of poultry and vegetable farms in Agro Farming Scheme who had encroached on additional area unlawfully.
In addition to this, some agro farms were under non-confirming use and were holding various other activities in violation of CDA bylaws. These activities included storage and use for office purposes.
