No Metro Bus for Imran’s Tsunami?

Sources have stated that DIG operations has sent a request to the Punjab Government to shut down the Metro Bus system for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf rally to be held tomorrow (Saturday).

The justification provided by the police is that judging by security arrangements, the crowd could potentially “hurt” the brand new buses and obstruct office buildings and surrounding routes.

The police added that the bus stopping at Minar-e-Pakistan would create a huge crowd hence should be shut

Several supporters of the PTI were relying heavily on the newly launched Metro Bus to reach the Minar-e-Pakistan venue and PTI Chairman Imran Khan had recently stated that the “PTI’s tsunami” would reach Minar-e Pakistan in Lahore by March 23, travelling on the newly operating Metro Buses.

UPDATE:

Talking to Pakistan Today, Spokesman for Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Pervez Rashid said that there was currenlty no conformation on the request sent by DIG Operations.

“Imran Khan needs to stop acting like we are in the 1950’s where such poliitical tactics are used” he added.
