LCWU annual sports day held

The annual sports day of LahoreCollege for Women University (LCWU), Lahore was held on Thursday, in the university main ground.

Begum Governor Punjab Sumera Mehmood was the chief guest. About 3000 students from 40 departments of the University took part different events like aerobics, hurdle race, chaati race, gymnastic show, relay race, balance race and tug of war.. The race for university employees and musical chair for guests was also held before the distribution of shields.

The ceremony started with the intermediate students bagged the prestigious trophy of the Best March Past Contingent a grand march past, sports day oath and athletics meet.

Dr. Sabiha Mansoor Vice Chancellor LCWU, Registrar Prof Riffat Saqlain, Dr. K.J.Cheema, director admin Ali Rizvi and Director Sports Shahina watched the march past. Begum Governor Punjab Sumera Mehmood said that sports make students better human beings and “its the teaches who encourages the spirit of competitiveness.

She further said that LCWU is made one of the finest sports nurseries for producing and grooming sportsmen for national teams, besides it is involving its students and faculty members in healthy sports activities.

800 meters race was won by student Bisma Afzal. Iqbal Bano came victorious in 100 metres race. In 200 Meters Race, Iqbal Bno was again the winner while Bisma stood second. Dr. Sabiha Mansoor Vice Chancellor LCWU gave away Medals to winners.
