Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has advised the parliamentary committee to ponder deeply before making a decision on who would be the caretaker prime minister.
Talking to reporters on Thursday, Fazl said if the two largest political parties of the country could not agree upon a single name, why did they introduce constitutional amendments for naming the caretaker set-up.
He said politicians should make a mutual decision on caretaker prime minister, adding that the judges were also apparently turning into a party. “Financial experts used to be representatives of the IMF, so the interim premiere must be selected after a detailed thought process.”
Fazl rejected the impression that Nisar Ali Khan said something on his own without the approval of his party leadership.
The JUI-F chief said his party would respond positively if Nawaz consulted it.
To a question, the JUI-F chief claimed that they would hold a larger rally than Imran Khan at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 31.
He said representatives of other political parties should have also been included in the parliamentary committee formed for the selection of caretaker prime minister.
He added that all political parties should adopt a strategy for steering the country out of crises, adding it was a testing time for all parties.
