The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a show-cause notice to the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) president and other office-bearers in an application of District and Sessions Judge (West) against alleged misbehavior of the KBA president and others.
The SHC chief justice also issued notice to the advocate general and prosecutor general of Sindh. District and Sessions Judge (West) Shahnawaz Tariq sent application to the chief justice of Sindh High Court against Mr Qureshi and others.
In the application it was submitted that district KBA president Naeem Qureshi and members of his association misbehaved with judges and their staff. He submitted it had become difficult for them to properly perform their duties under such circumstances.
The chief justice issued show-cause notice to KBA President Naeem Qureshi and other members of the lawyer body to explain why their licenses should not be suspended in terms of Subsection 1 of Section 54 of Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Act 1971.
The court also appointed the Sindh High Court Bar Association president and other senior lawyers as amicus curie to assist court in the matter.
