At least five persons were gunned down in fresh wave of targeted killings in separate incidents on Wednesday.
In first incident, one man was shot dead when some unknown armed men opened indiscriminate firing in the area of Lyari Maryann at Adam Khan Road.
Upon receiving the information, Police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to civil hospital for autopsy. Later on, the deceased was identified as Noor khan.
In another incident, one-man Hanif was gunned down by some unknown armed men in the precincts of Jackson Police Station at Keemari Masan Road. Later, the police shifted the dead body to Jinnah Hospital.
Meanwhile, one dead body was recovered in the area of Alasif Colony near Super Market and it was shifted to a hospital but the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.
The police claimed the deceased was tortured and then murdered brutally.
Meanwhile, Rangers have launched targeted operation in Musharraf Colony and apprehended 15 suspected criminals and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from them while two suspected persons were also gunned down in a targeted operation.
Upon receiving secret information regarding presence of people belonging to a banned outfit, Rangers launched an operation at 5:00 am in the morning which continued for five hours.
Before the start of operation, all entry and exit points were blocked and more than 500 women police of the anti-terrorist wing took part in the operation. They started door-to-door search and arrested 15 suspected persons and recovered Kalashankoves, nine MM rifles, repeaters, short gun and night vision camera.
However, police registered an FIR and further investigations are underway.
