Six-member gang of robbers busted in Rawalpindi

A six-member gang of robbers which the police had been looking for in two provinces was busted in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

The suspects identified as Pervez Khan, Moosa Khan, Shaukat, Ahmed Nawaz, Raees and Asif confessed to several crimes for which they had been booked.

The accused had robbed a bakery on February 26 and had mercilessly shot a person dead upon resistance. One suspect, Asif, was captured red handed by the locals, whereas his accomplices managed to escape.

According to the police, the remaining five were later arrested from a hotel upon the information given by the arrested robber.

“They told the interrogators that they used to rob shops at gunpoint and distributed the looted amount equally amongst themselves,” he said..
