Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistam Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) stance on the issue of caretaker prime minister (PM) is not inflexible.
Talking to media on the ongoing deadlock on the issue of caretaker PM he said, “Our stance is not intransigent at all on this matter. But our stance is aimed at bolstering national interest.”
“What is wrong in our demand that efficient and honest people should become part of the caretaker setup,” he said.
“Our party’s role will be jotted down in history in golden words,” he added.
Why should we bring IMF ridden people? There are several capable people in this country,” said the Punjab CM.
Sharif said if PPP had better people his party would consider them because PML-N wanted elections to be held as soon as possible.
Responding to a question he said Rehman Malik, not PML-N, engaged in negotiations with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ). “I can produce evidence on this count,” he said.
Regarding the arson attack on a Christian Colony in Lahore he said, “We have built their homes and churches at Joseph Colony immediately. We have beautified them more than before.”
