Though clash-like situation between MNA Faryal Talpur, who happens to be President Zardari’s sister, and Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq was been resolved, the latter once again befooled the former by providing at least 121 fake backdated appointments orders for appointment of teachers.
Interestingly, Faryal Talpur was not expecting that she would be treated like that however the education minister provided her teachers’ appointment orders which were declared fake by the Services Hospital of the Sindh government, well-placed sources told Pakistan Today.
The sources said a dispute was going on between Faryal Talpur and Pir Mazhar as the MNA was denied job quota in recruitment of teachers – Sindh Language, drawing and Arabic teachers.
This resulted into stern bureaucratic move by the MNA and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah that brought Talpur’s brother-in-law as secretary education sidelining the minister in his department, the sources added.
After the months-long dispute, the education minister finally apologised to the MNA and assured her that 121 appointment orders would be issued to her. And, all the orders were handed over to the in-charge of Zardari House, Maqbool Memon, on March 16, 2013 in backdates – December 12, 2012, the sources disclosed.
At least four candidates, who were issued orders by the Zardari House, requesting anonymity told Pakistan Today that they received orders on Saturday evening with the instruction that the medical and police verification be done by Monday March 17, 2013.
“When we visited Services Hospital for medical fitness certificate, the MS informed us that these orders were fake and they needed to get verified from the director education, Karachi. We left with no option but to throw the orders in dustbin despite the fact we qualify for the posts. Most of the jobs have been awarded to those who belong to interior parts of the province although major condition for the posts was Karachi-domicile”, the aggrieved said.
When contacted, Services Hospital Medical-Superintendent Dr Toufeeq told Pakistan Today that these offer letters carried signatures of former director Shamsuddin Dall. And, the chief minister had issued a notification canceling all the orders carrying such signatures, the MS added.
“These candidates must get a counter signature from the present director education and I will help them have medical certificate”, he added.
However, Karachi Director Education Qasim Baloch told this scribe that he was confused over the whole situation as more than 60 people were issued offer letters during the last seven days and issuance of such letters was still continuing, he added.
“I will not sign (endorse) the offer letters till these people get their joining. If you want to get it endorsed, ask Adi Faryal to ring me up”, he further said.
And finally, when Pakistan Today contacted Maqbool Memon, in-charge of Zardari House, for his comments, he knew nothing about the orders – genuine or fake. He would contact the director education and ask him to endorse the orders, he further added. However, he did not receive the call when this scribe tried to seek his version over the latest development.
Last minutes appointment. CEC and CJ should take a look at these appointment due to per poll rigging special if the residency requirement for position is Karachi and not the Interior Sindh.
I am sure someone is compiling all this evidence for use at the oppertune moment either in a court or a Commission.
