Assistance provided to poor widows

Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust (BMWT) provided a grant to more than 15 widows belonging to rural communities of Haripur and Islamabad on Tuesday.

Under the income support program, the trust provides cash to widows every month. The women are registered for the grant after a rigorous survey in the targeted areas.

“This is a regular feature of the trust, in which widows are provided assistance,” said a press release issued on Tuesday.

Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust initiated this unique program to enable widows to fulfil their financial needs without being a burden on their relatives.

Chief Executive and Co-Founder Hina Fysal said, “The trust appreciates the contributions as this assistance helps widows to meet their daily needs and it is also a financial security for them”.

BMWT is a non-profit organisation which was established under the Trust Act of Pakistan.

This family-driven trust had been working for many years to bring positive and lasting changes to the people in need and distress.
