Ten countries have confirmed their participation in the 29th Asian Snooker Championship being played from April 27 at Karachi.
“It is a matter of great satisfaction that Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong, Iran, India, Mongolia, Philippines, Qatar, South Korea and Sri Lanka have confirmed their participation in the show-piece event of the Asian snooker,” said Alamgir A Shaikh, President, Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association here on Monday. He said the event will conclude on May 3.
He said the championship will help in elevating the existing standards of snooker in Pakistan besides supporting the cause of the game at home.
“The participation of a number of foreign countries will portray a better image of the country in the present circumstances when the foreign teams have declined to visit Pakistan owing to security concerns,” he added.
