SC orders indictment of Rehman Malik for contempt of court

The Supreme Court on Monday ordered framing of contempt of court charges against Chief Security Advisor to the President, Rehman Malik.
A three-member bench of the apex court issued this order during hearing of a case here today pertaining to investigation in Pakistan Steel Mills case.
The court ordered that contempt of court charges be framed against Malik after 7 days for allegedly influencing the investigation into Pakistan Steel Mills case.
Malik appeared before the bench, contending that he had ordered constitution of an investigation team after the Parliament sought a report into the case.
He said that objective of setting up the team was to assist the court other than influencing the probe.
