Police arrests 11; seizes hashish, wine

Islamabad Police arrested 11 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 10 kilogrammes of hashish and liquor from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.

On a tip off, Bhara Kau Police Station Station House Officer Inspector Mehboob Ahmed, along with his team, started a search operation in the area. During the checking, they signaled Najeeb Ullah to stop and recovered ten kilogrammes of hashish from his possession.

Sub-Inspector Abdul Ghafoor from Secretariat Police Station arrested Muhammad Khan while patrolling and recovered a 12-bore gun along with 4 cartridges from him. ASI Qasim Zia from Industrial Area Police Station arrested a bootlegger Shahid Zafar and recovered three bottles od wine from him.

ASIs Qamar Ejaz, Fayyaz Akbar and Muhammad Tariq from Sabzi Mandi police station nabbed three accused, namely Ameen Khan, Abrar and Shahbaz besides recovering two pistols and several rounds of ammunition from them.

Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akbar and ASI Muhamamd Niaz from Shahzad Town Police apprehended Iqbal and Shah Reheem for possessing a 30-bore and a 9mm pistol along with 15 cartridges of ammunition respectively.

Sub-Inspector Arshad Ali from Koral Police Station nabbed Gohar, Akthar Abbas and Nasir Javed for possessing illegal weapons. Police recovered two 222 rifles and a 30 bore pistol from them. Cases were registered against those arrested and further investigations were underway.

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq appreciated the overall performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and asked them to patrol in their respective areas to curb activities of anti-social elements.
