Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Sunday took a suo motu notice of the transfer of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz.
The chief justice, terming the decision a violation of the courts’ orders, said that an officer could not be transferred ahead of end of his term without any reason.
A bench led by Justice Jawad S Khawaja would hear the case today.
The interior secretary and establishment division secretary had also been issued notices in this regard.
