A week long Annual Sports Gala of Pakistan Sweet Home kids titled ‘Angels on Earth’ kicked off in Jinnah Sports Stadium on Monday.
Addressing the opening ceremony, former Bait Ul Maal managing director (MD) Zamrud Khan said that a total of 3100 kids from 28 cities had participated in the third sports gala.
This year, for the first time, around a 100 girls also participated in the sports Gala.
The children from sweet homes would present music, tableaus and a parade in the eight-day event. The concluding ceremony would be held on March 24.
In 2011 the annual sports gala was attended by 1500 children, 2800 in 2012 and this year and 3100 children participating in this year’s sports gala.
“Pakistan’s Sweet Home project was a huge success and will be more prosperous in the future as 14 donors would sponsor Pakistan Sweet Home,” Zamurd Khan said.
He said under PSH project, orphans hailing from all over the country between ages of 4 and 6 had been enrolled. They were provided free food, shelter, boarding and quality education.
