900 criminals arrested in three weeks

Liaqatabad police claimed to have arrested 900 criminals involved in robbery, theft, gambling, drug peddling other crimes during last three weeks.
Liaqatabad Police Station SHO Pirzada Muhammad Idrees Qureshi said on Sunday that on the direction of DIG (Operation) Rai Tahir and Model Town SP Owais Malik, a drive had been launched against ‘anti-social elements’. The police, during the on-going drive, raided 11 dens in various areas that fall in the jurisdiction of Liaqatabad PS and arrested 45 gamblers with stake money.
The police also arrested dozens of men on the charges of carrying illegal weapons and recovered sophisticated weapons from them. The police recovered huge quantity of drugs and liquor from narcotics dealers during the same period.
The police nabbed two members of motorcycle lifting gang and recovered four motorcycles from their possession. The police impounded hundreds of motorcycles bearing fake number plates/without number plates.
Meanwhile, traders and NOGs of Liaqatabad, Kot Lakhpat and Model Town have appreciated the police action against criminals and assured their cooperation in rooting out crimes from the area.
