Votes of Bugti tribesmen are not being registered: Talal

Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) head Talal Bugti on Sunday said 250,000 Bugti tribesmen are not being registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Addressing a press conference at the Bugti House in Quetta, he said the Balochistan chief secretary had been directed by the Supreme Court to complete the rehabilitation and registration of Bugti refugees at earliest. “Yet the chief secretary was speedily removed from his post,” he complained.
He also said that he had also written to the chief election commissioner for speedy rehabilitation of Bugti refugees, as identified, but instead baseless cases were being filed against them and they were also being abducted. He cited a case of Hydrabad’s Khudadad Town, from where four Bugtis were kidnapped.
He also expressed his concerns over the un-acceptable caretaker setup in Balochistan, which was being forced against the will of the people.
Condemning the March 17, 2005 killing of Akbar Bugti, he said that the JWP would mourn the occasion and keep the party flag at half-mast.
