Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that he believed in front door diplomacy rather than back door diplomacy. While addressing the inauguration ceremony of the completion of Pirwadhai Mor flyover and underpass he said, “I don’t know anything about back door diplomacy, but I do know front door diplomacy”.
Several members of the national and provincial assemblies, including Punjab Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah and Senator Pervez Rashid, were also present on the occasion.
He said every penny of the public had been plundered by corrupt elements and would be recovered from them through setting up of courts at Chohar Chowk, Mochi Darwaza and Ghanta Ghar.
In reply to a question, he said Punjab was unjustly treated on the matter of electricity and gas load shedding, and the province was never compensated on this account.
“I am the Khadim-e-Aala of the whole of Punjab, not just of Lahore. Allegations of corruption were levelled against us with regard to the Metro Bus, laptop and Ujala schemes and we presented our self in the court of the people for accountability. And Transparency International issued a certificate in our favour after finding these projects transparent and of standard quality”, he noted.
He announced a prize of Rs 1,000,000 for distribution among the labourers who worked on the Pirwadhai Mor flyover and under pass.
This amount would be distributed by a committee which would be set up under Rawalpindi Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal.
