The Anti Terrorism court on Saturday adjourned hearing of the Shahzeb Khan murder case until Monday, owing to reservations of the plaintiff DSP Orangzaib regarding the prosecutor in the case.
Earlier, the government had replaced the special public prosecutor with a man who belonged to the native town of the main accused’s father, Sikander Jatoi.
Special Public Prosecutor Shahid Arain was asked to leave the charge forthwith. Mr Arain had been directed to hand over all files and records to the newly appointed prosecutor Muzaffar Solangi.
The IO said that prosecutor’s link to the accused and his access to sensitive record could undermine the trial.
The court adjourned the hearing till Monday.
