It was Pakistan’s 19th win in 59 one day internationals against South Africa. South Africa have won 39 and one match was abandoned.
Mohammed Irfan recorded his best bowling performance in one day internationals by taking four for 33 in seven overs. It was joint fourth best bowling performance by a Pakistani bowler against South Africa and joint third best for Pakistan against South Africa in South Africa. Mohammed Irfan’s previous best bowling in one day internationals was two for 28 against India at Delhi on January 6,2013.
Misbah-ul-Haq recorded his maiden half century in the ninth innings of as many matches by making an unbeaten 57 in 112 minutes off 75 balls with three fours and same number of sixes. It was his 21st half century in 100th innings of 111 one day internationals. Pakistani skipper’s previous highest against South Africa was 38 in 55 minutes off 44 balls with four fours and a six in the first match of the series at Bloemfontein on March 10,2013.
Mohammed Irfan received his maiden man of the match award in six one day internationals.
