All Pakistan Bedsheets & Upholstery Manufacturers’ Association (APBUMA) Thursday hailed the inauguration of Pak-Iran Gas pipeline project and termed it a breath of fresh air for country’s industrial sector. APBUMA chairman Khawaja Muhammad Younus said in a statement that energy crisis had been haunting the industry, businesses and trade for last few years and not only it affected production but also left daily wage workers jobless. The chairman APBUMA said that the textile sector of Punjab had its nightmare from December-2012 to Feb-2013 during which the gas remained suspended for over 2 months. The Pak-Iran gas pipeline project came at a time when industrial sector was desperately looking for a worthwhile panacea. He said the entire industrial sector was looking towards the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project as the only feasible option in sight. He said the project was delayed time and again and needed political will that was truly demonstrated by the Honourable President Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, who negated all the international pressures in the greatest interest of nation.
