ECP asked to introduce voting system for overseas Pakistanis

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to introduce a voting procedure for overseas Pakistanis within two days.
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry, heard a case on expatriate Pakistanis’ right to vote.
During the proceedings, the CJP remarked that several countries arrange e-polling service at the embassies to facilitate overseas citizens during the elections, whereas, the Election Commission of Pakistan had done nothing in this regard. He expressed that time was not enough to introduce a new legislation for the overseas voters.
Later, the bench gave two-day deadline to the authorities concerned. The case hearing was adjourned until tomorrow (Friday).
