The Lahore High Court (LHC) has observed that 176 children killed in US drone strikes could not be called terrorists and only parliament’s resolutions could solve the issue.

The LHC Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Thursday resumed hearing of a petition filed against US drone strikes in Pakistan.

Deputy Attorney General Yasmin Sehgal while raising an objection said the LHC cannot hear the drone attacks case, thus, only the Supreme Court or parliament can look into the matter.

During the case proceeding, Justice Umar Ata Badnial remarked that the matter is pertaining to human rights and the court has the right to intervene.

The court told the deputy AG that the government must present arguments over the petition’s maintainability in the next hearing, if it has any objection.

Later, the case hearing was adjourned till April 04.
